Hello out there!

Just wanted to take a few minutes to send out a big Texas hello to everyone. For all who are in the facebook reunion group I posted the pics of the last reunion that I have gotten so far. Thanks Amanda and Dad for emailing me what you had. Would love to post all that I can get. I am working now on how to post them here. I am a little challenged on the best way to do it so I may need to call Amanda for direction again. I also, posted some pics of the gravestones for grandparents that Daddy, Jessie, Corrie and I went and visited back in April. It was a wonderful day and felt so special to visit four generations of grandparents. Add Daddy, Me and Jessie to that and seven generations of Crooks were gathered for the day. AMAZING!! I am adding to and working on the family tree so don't be surprised if I email you for updated info. Well, I love you all and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Okay, I got the following updates on the food and needed items list:

Amanda and Dan: Chips, Dips and veggie tray
David and Gail: Deviled Eggs and whatever last minutes stuff we need
Corrie & Steven: Papergoods and plasticware
Jessie: George if you will email me the ingredients list for the ice cream she will bring everything except the peaches!
Me: Cake and small plates
D.L.: Bowls for the ice cream

Hey there! Who else is excited about the family reunion? George and Janice have been working on their house getting it ready for the crowd. Lot's of fun stuff planned George has horse shoes and a golf game. Anyone wanting to bring bikes or four wheelers feel welcome! If you have any other yard games bring those as well!

Going Home!

Well, moving to Florida has been an interesting experience, however, we have decided that we miss home and it is time to go back. Jessie and I are both transferring back to stores in Texas. She will be headed to our store in Grapevine and I will be returning to the one in Sherman. We are very much looking forward to getting back and being close to David (D.L.) again. It has been very hard being so far away from him for a year with only one visit. But not to worry, we have already arranged time off and will be back for the reunion in August! If anyone has any other interesting news please take a minute to jump on and share it!

We will miss you Cindy

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you all this morning. As most of you are aware John's wife, Cindy passed this past week. I am most sure she has gone on to heaven and I envy her the wonderful time she is having visiting with all who have gone before her. She was one of the sweetest most caring ladies I have ever been lucky enough to meet. She has always tried to keep in touch with me over the years and each time we visited it was as if I had seen her the day before. As for John and Chad, we love you both and I am sure that I speak for the entire family when I say should you need anything please do not hesitate to ask. Know in your hearts that now she suffers no longer and she is watching over you both and saving a place for you at the Crook Reunion in heaven.

Brush Fires in TEXAS!!!

Thank GOD and a lot of wonderful firemen and volunteers that more lives and property were not lost in all of the recent fires in Texas! Aunt Reta and Uncle Wayne I was a nervous wreck as things were heating up so close to you! Thank goodness for the rain. Looking forward to seeing you guys in August. We love you!

Crook Family Reunion 2011

Hey There! Well, I have been asked to take over the Crook Family Reunion Blog and hope I can do as well as Amanda. George and Janice will be hosting this year and I will be working with him to make sure that everyone gets the word on all the details. So far we have settled on a date, Saturday, August 6th.
